My journey to working online has been quite the experience, and with the uprising of individuals learning to make money online, or starting their own businesses online, or businesses converting to online, I figured I’d do my part where I see fit, and shed knowledge to whoever finds my content, and to help those who are trying to start a business for themselves, successfully. Where I got started:
I’ve been investing in stocks since February of 2018. I got in to stock trading at a time when I was a bartender, and looking for new hobbies. I started off on Robinhood, like many other beginners and I took to the internet in various groups to find experienced traders to see where and how they started and asked what I should master in trading first. I took on option trading, and this was my first success. I give credit to a professional, that I do not have permission to name, but… either way, I couldn’t be more thankful for him sharing his knowledge and experience.
I’ve had plenty of successes, and I’ve had plenty of fails. After getting back online and figuring out what my next venture would be, I decided to try to e-commerce. I was doing all my research on drop shipping and trying to find the best ways to get the cheapest deals and trying to stay ahead of the curve of trends, and Holidays. Being a one man show, and still being a bartender at this time, I feel this business method for me, was a little too much for me to handle. Stay on top of inventory, paying for storage, and fees, and having to depend on keeping up sales to keep up with quotas before the end of my months in order to remain profitable, was just dragging me. I really wasn’t generating as much as I could have if I had help, but since I did not, my website, my Facebook, Twitter, Domain, and connections with product holders were all soon disconnected before I was able to drown myself.
I took a break for a while, as I had a child, and was taking time to focus on my family. It wasn’t until I made sure me and my family were secure that I started really getting serious with investing again. I started looking for innovative ways to generate money online. I went to Google, and decided I was going to learn to run ads. One thing I did take with me from e-commerce was, the importance of ads, and having someone run them for you. Now, due to Covid, as many businesses are coming back, I decided to jump back on it.
This is how I did it:
First, I went to Google, Then went to the Skillshop. From there, you’ll find all the free courses that Google offers for free. You can get certified in basic Google ads in less than an hour. If you truly want a full certification, it is still free, however, it does take a bit longer, but the potential for learning this skill is 1000’s of dollars a month.
I took to Fiverr and charged for basic ads for people’s apps, Youtube videos, personal products, songs, and countless other personal brand items for people out there. I began getting so many orders, that I took on two friends of mine, from a restaurant I worked at, to help me. These guys still work for me till this day. Remember when I mentioned taking advantage of Covid to jump back in to ads?
We decided to come up with a script and write to local businesses all around our area and offer to run ads for them. How did we know who to call? Well, we looked up just about every kind of private business, big or small, and checked out their websites and evaluated them with a Google Chrome extension that allows us to see if the company is using Google Pixel or Ads to run campaigns for them. If they weren’t, we just kindly explained how they may be losing money to their competitors who are using it. We help them by setting up a budget, based off of recommendations and their personal needs, and then we simply charge them for our services to run the ads monthly, for as long as they want us to keep them going for.
All of this is done with no expense to you. This is a free method of working from home that can lead to thousands of dollars of month. Once I had this up and going, I wanted to find the next best way I can use this knowledge now that we were getting some leverage on it. I started working myself in to doing something I’ve never done before again…Affiliate marketing.
The transition:
So Affiliate Marketing comes, as I truly cared for having some kind of business online, and I wanted something I can start as a one man show, that I could really have pride in. To be honest, I struggled with this one in the beginning, until about my 4th, month. I was generating small sales, and low commission sales, at that, so profits weren’t enough to get me to really leave my job, so I was just steady trying to find ways to make more, and ads were beginning to cost more than what I was making on my products… a similar issue I was having with e-commerce. I’ve always done this kind of stuff as passive income, not too much to make a living, but, as now that I have a family, I wanted to stop working full-time, and work from home.
